![]() No matter the case, Blake Comeau had nothing else on his mind than putting an end to his former team’s streak and Jim Montgomery, former head coach of Denver University, had a chance to play in a city so familiar to him. In fact, last season Dallas had two games out in Denver in which both were coming off of a game the night before Dallas split those two matchups. It also always seems that the Stars have to play Colorado on a rapid turnaround. The Avs are always a tough opponent for Dallas being a division opponent but especially on the road, as the Stars must acclimate to the elevation change rather quickly. Only two or three points separate each team in the division standings as it remains a big toss-up currently. The Avalanche are smoking hot right now riding a four-game winning streak and have pushed their way into third in the Central Division while the Stars are back in fifth place. After beating the Ottawa Senators in a quick one-game home matchup, Dallas immediately headed back onto the road to start a four-game road trip against the Colorado Avalanche, falling 2-3. The Dallas Stars headed to Denver after playing in front of the home crowd in American Airlines Center for the second leg of their back-to-back. ![]()
